Not Another Sports Conference

Not another convention centre ballroom.
Not another safe, generic panel session with no insights.
"Fireside chats" with no metaphorical, or actual fire.
Sales pitches trying to disguise as "breakout sessions".
The sports industry deserves better.

Over the last decade, we've seen the same format rolled out to the industry time and time again. Events that end up targeting commercial partners more than the audience itself. After a while, that dissatisfaction turns into inspiration. The inspiration for an event like Victory Lap: Australia's New Sports Marketing & Creative Summit.

Sure, Victory Lap will follow the loose conference structure. People in a room listening to speakers. Different topic streams. Maybe even panels (they'd have to be really good panels!). But the difference is how the conversations are led.

Most conferences are built around seniority.
Victory Lap is built around creativity.
We get excited that the discussion doesn't have to be led by the most senior person in the room, as opposed to being led simply, by the best work.

So Victory Lap is discarding the corporate event formalities and replacing them with great talent from Australia and around the world, unpacking creativity that impact sports leagues, teams, brands, fans and athletes in new ways. Our aim is to uncover some of the world's best sports marketing and creative talent, and showcase some of the world's best work and ideas. We're trying to build something tighter, sharper, more considered and more inclusive. Showcasing people who are reshaping sports marketing and creativity, not just talking about it. Looking at problems and solutions from different angles and inspiring each other along the way.

And we'd love you to come along for the ride.

Join us in the Sunshine State

Victory Lap will take place in Brisbane, Queensland - Australia's emerging sports city and host of the 2032 Olympics. Melbourne and Sydney can't have all the fun, and besides, the July weather's better in Brisbane!

Over two days, the 7th-8th of July at the Brisbane Powerhouse, we'll showcase some of the best sports marketing and creativity from Australia and around the world. Marketers, creatives and strategists sharing their work, ideas and experiences live and in-person, with an industry hungry for inspo and keen for a collab. Which is just as well, because Victory Lap is the kind of summit best enjoyed with a mate. So bring a colleague and join us at the new destination for creativity in sport.

Questions And Answers

Are more Speakers going to be announced?
Yes! We have only announced our first round of International speakers. We have more exciting speakers to announce, especially some amazing Australian talent.
I can't pay by credit card as my employer requires an invoice. Can I still purchase a ticket?
Yes! In the checkout section of the site, instead of Credit Card, simply select "Pay by Invoice". Your tickets will be reserved while an automatic invoice will be generated and sent via email. Tickets are only fully confirmed on receipt of a paid invoice.
Are there events happening before and after the conference?
We will be planning some more casual / unofficial activities to give VL attendees more chances to hang. Stay tuned closer to the summit.
Will the conference be live-streamed?
Nope. We want to encourage some in-person industry interaction so there won't be a live-stream option for Victory Lap. We, however, will be filming the event and providing snippets from various sessions, but mainly to encourage regret for those that don't attend.
What types of sessions will there be?
The conference will have a variation of content sessions, predominantly led by keynote speakers / presentations. We despise panels, but mainly because they are usually generic. We are planning to bring some life, interactivity and even controversy to any panels that exist at Victory Lap. As for workshops, we are planning some activity on this front for inclusion in the conference - stay tuned.
Does the ticket give access to everything at the Summit or only particular parts of Victory Lap?
The 2-day pass will give you access to every session available during the summit's day schedule. Only the 2-Day Pass + State of Origin will give you access to the game on Wednesday night.
How do I get there? Where do I park?
Stay tuned for a dedicated section on the site for how best to plan your trip, including Venue, Accommodation and Transport details
Will Food & Drinks be included?
Yes. Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea as well as non-alcoholic drinks will be available during the conference. Dietary requirements will be requested from attendees prior to the event date. There is also a licensed bar on-site available at attendees cost.
Is there accessible entry / seating at the venue?
Yes. The entire venue has accessible, step-free entries on and within all levels. The venue also has reserved, accessible seating. Please let us know if you require accessible seating prior to the event.
I'd like to be a speaker at Victory Lap. Can I apply?
We would LOVE to hear from you on reasons why you'd make a great speaker at Victory Lap or alternatively, nominating someone you'd love to hear speak at Victory Lap. Simply email hello@victorylap.com.au with "SPEAKER" as the subject.
I'm interested in partnering with Victory Lap as a brand / sponsor. Is this possible?
Yes. We're always keen to hear from brands interested in partnering with us. However, we will be up front and say that we value the authenticity of the experience for our attendees above all-else and so we expect partners to improve the experience, not diminish it. If this sounds like you, we can't wait to chat.
