Not Another Sports Conference

Not another convention centre ballroom.
Not another safe, generic panel session with no insights.
"Fireside chats" with no metaphorical, or actual fire.
Celebrating the c-suite instead of the work itself.
The sports industry deserves better.

Over the last decade, we've seen the same format rolled out to the industry time and time again. Events that end up targeting commercial partners more than the audience itself. After a while, that dissatisfaction turns into inspiration. The inspiration for an event like Victory Lap: Australia's New Sports Marketing & Creative Summit.

Sure, Victory Lap will follow the loose conference structure. People in a room listening to speakers. Different topic streams. Maybe even panels (they'd have to be really good panels!). But the difference is how the conversations are led.

Most conferences are built around seniority.
Victory Lap is built around creativity.
We get excited that the discussion doesn't have to be led by the most senior person in the room, as opposed to being led simply, by the best work.

So Victory Lap is discarding the corporate event formalities and replacing them with great talent from Australia and around the world, unpacking creativity that impact sports leagues, teams, brands, fans and athletes in new ways. Our aim is to uncover some of the world's best sports marketing and creative talent, and showcase some of the world's best work and ideas. We're trying to build something tighter, sharper, more considered and more inclusive. Showcasing people who are reshaping sports marketing and creativity, not just talking about it. Looking at problems and solutions from different angles and inspiring each other along the way.

And we'd love you to come along for the ride.

Join us in the Sunshine State

Victory Lap will take place in Brisbane, Queensland - Australia's emerging sports city and host of the 2032 Olympics. Melbourne and Sydney can't have all the fun, and besides, the July weather's better in Brisbane!

Over two days, the 7th-8th of July at the Brisbane Powerhouse, we'll showcase some of the best sports marketing and creativity from Australia and around the world. Marketers, creatives and strategists sharing their work, ideas and experiences live and in-person, with an industry hungry for inspo and keen for a collab. Which is just as well, because Victory Lap is the kind of summit best enjoyed with a mate. So bring a colleague and join us at the new destination for creativity in sport.
